The Ori games have sold over 10 million copies
The CEO of Moon Studio announced in a new tweet that the total sales of Ori games have surpassed 10 million copies.
Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, developed by Microsoft and Moon Studio, have been available on Xbox and PC for a long time. The first installment was released on Nintendo Switch in September 2019, while Switch users gained access to the second installment in September 2020.
However, you might be curious about the commercial success of the Ori games. Now, the CEO of Moon Studio has confirmed in a new tweet that the combined sales of the games have exceeded 10 million copies, making the series "likely" the most successful Metroidvania game series ever.
Thomas Mahler tweeted, "If Ori and the Blind Forest had failed back then, Moon Studio would have gone bankrupt. But thankfully, that didn't happen. Around 10 million copies of Ori have been sold so far. This volume of sales is likely to make this series the most successful Metroidvania game series in history."
